Job summary

Sanmina is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to convert complex engineering and hardware specifications into clear customer manuals for storage servers and related platforms. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to document, illustrate, photograph, and format technical content with a strong emphasis on readability and usability.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 8 years in technical writing for electronics hardware, strong Adobe FrameMaker/Illustrator/Photoshop skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent directly related experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience in technical writing.
• 5+ years working as a technical writer in an electronics/hardware product development environment (storage and high‑compute servers, JBODs, GPU platforms).
• Strong technical acumen and hands‑on capability to interact with physical hardware.
• Experience in product photography, image editing, and incorporating visual media into technical documentation.
• Strong knowledge and recent experience using Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with portfolio/samples required.
• Demonstrated experience interviewing SMEs and leading cross‑functional information‑gathering meetings.
• Experience developing engaging technical training materials and tracking compliance matrices.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior technical writers is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, Confluence, and Connex.
• Experience managing technical documentation libraries within enterprise DMS and version control.
• Exposure to Agile Engineering databases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Content Creation & Design: create technical documents, product user guides, specifications, photos, and manuals with product teams.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: schedule and lead meetings with engineering leaders to gather design details and specifications.
• Product Photography & Illustration: photograph hardware products and create visual aids and step-by-step instructions.
• Hardware Proficiency: understand enterprise hardware architectures and document features, troubleshooting steps, and procedures.
• Document Management: manage the product documentation library and customer access.
• Continuous Improvement & Gap Analysis: identify missing information and modernize documentation.
• Training Leadership: create engaging training materials and maintain training matrices.
• Mentorship: guide junior writers and set documentation excellence standards.
