Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Tech Writer/Editor for a fully remote role with the Veterans Affairs department. The position requires 10+ years of experience in technical documentation, strong writing skills, and the ability to convert complex information into clear publications.

Responsibilities include preparing manuals, reports, proposals, and training materials, coordinating multiple writers, and ensuring compliance with publication standards in a fast-paced government

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation and publications.
• Strong written and verbal communication with high attention to detail, grammar, and style.
• Translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documents.
• Collaborate with SMEs, PgMs, engineers, and stakeholders to validate information.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and document collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Write and update material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related publications.
• Refine work of writers and coordinate activities of writers on technical material.
• Apply industry practices, standards, and best practices in publishing.
• Translate complex information into clear documentation for users.
• Support proposal development, government contracting, or defense-related materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on projects.
