Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Senior Technical Trainer to develop, design, and implement advanced training content for internal and external customers. The role delivers on-site and remote client support, advising on technical training materials and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

The position collaborates with cross-functional teams, builds scalable training assets, and stays current on emerging technologies such as XR and AI to drive effective learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
• 6+ years of experience in technical training or a related field.
• Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Discovery of needs and planning.
• Engage technical implementation teams and technical leaders early to understand required training, audiences, and success measures.
• Define the real training need and turn it into a scoped plan with timelines and learning outcomes.
• Maintain a forward-looking training roadmap aligned to the capability delivery pipeline.
• Design, develop, and deliver training for new systems, enhancements, and new technologies (XR and AI).
• Tailor content to different audiences and build scalable training assets.
• Coordinate with corporate L&D and trainers to align with standards and avoid duplicative effort.
• Work with Corporate IT and Cybersecurity to ensure secure training environments and access.
• Own training initiatives from intake through delivery and follow-up.
• Define and track measures of effectiveness and report to leaders.
• Gather feedback, improve content and content delivery based on usage data.
• Escalate risks and propose solutions, including gaps in access and environments.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and bring in immersive learning approaches.
• Identify and develop subject matter experts to extend training reach.
