Job description

Senior Technical Services Engineer

Located On-Site in Jefferson City, MO

Analyze, install, and provide maintenance for various types of hardware and software, including but not limited to PC's, Servers, Switches, Firewalls, MS Windows, MS Server, and MS Office products. Good communication skills are essential to provide quality customer service through phone and on-site support. This position requires the highest level of confidentiality and integrity regarding customer data. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment to ensure customer needs and CSPI goals are exceeded.

  1. Troubleshoot and identify technical and complex issues; then determine, test, modify, and implement solutions. (2nd Tier Help Desk)
  2. Plan and implement network security, including firewalls, Active Directory, file sharing/security, backup, replication, and disaster recovery plans, as well as file and/or drive encryption.
  3. Evaluate and recommend the purchase of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software.
  4. Recommend issues, resolutions, and needs to management.
  5. Perform and oversee application software installations and upgrades.
  6. Must have a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of Network Communications, including LAN, WAN, subnets, DNS, etc.
  8. Demonstrate knowledge of PC/Server hardware and MS Windows operating systems. Knowledge of Virtual Systems (e.g., VMWare and Hyper-V) is a plus.
  9. Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers via email, phone, or face-to-face.
  10. Possess strong technical writing skills to document problems and resolutions in support knowledgebase.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • An Associate's degree in computer information technology, computer information systems, or a related field, or
  • Five years of experience in a computer service position, or
  • An equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
