Job summary

Generac is seeking a Senior Technical Service Trainer to work onsite at our service training center in Wisconsin. You will train technicians in repair and installation for Generac products using classroom, hands-on labs, and live streaming, and mentor junior trainers.

You will lead curriculum development and write technical documentation, partnering with internal teams to fabricate training units and establish service rates for prototypes. Strong MS Office and instructional skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5 years field technician experience in HVAC, automotive, generator or similar discipline or 5 years combined field technician experience and technical training experience
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Curriculum development experience preferred
• Experience evaluating and coaching instructor technique preferred
• Technician Excellence or ASE certification preferred
• Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP preferred

Responsibilities

• Instruct and train technicians in repair and installation for Generac products using classroom instruction, hands on labs, and live stream training.
• Lead the development of technical training curriculum.
• Write and review technical documentation such as owner, installation, diagnostic and service and training bulletins.
• Establish warranty flat rates for new product prototypes.
• Work with internal departments to fabricate training units.
• Mentor lower level technical service trainers and assist in onboarding/training.
