Job summary

HellaGoodAudio seeks a seasoned Technical Animation Artist to establish and maintain production and software pipelines, delivering high-quality rigging and skinning for complex assets. You will collaborate with leads to meet deadlines and ensure pipeline integrity.

You will autonomously rig characters in Maya (cloth, physics, hair), work with modelers and animators, create new riggings and retargeting tools, and contribute to tool ownership and engine improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Technical Animation or similar.
• Involved in the production cycle of at least 2 titles.
• Strong experience with Python code.
• Knowledge of Houdini
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the production and software pipeline and meet deadlines in collaboration with the Lead.
• Create high quality characters, creatures and props rigging and skinning suitable to the project universe.
• Rig characters in Maya autonomously including cloth, physics and hair setups.
• Collaborate with modelers and animators to ensure a smooth development pipeline.
• Create new riggings and retargeting systems/tools for old to new rigging.
• Share ownership of pipeline tools and improve engine tools with leads.
• Provide technical ownership of team outputs with clean assets or code.
• Lead R&D projects, improve processes and conduct post-mortems.
