Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Technical Animator to bridge art and tech, developing rigs, tools, and workflows for animators. You will optimize pipelines and collaborate with artists, riggers, and engineers in a fully remote setting.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in technical animation, deep Maya rigging and scripting experience, and a strong grasp of animation principles and engine workflows. Remote, international collaboration is a key aspect of this role.

Formación

• Portfolio of technical animation work, tool development, and rigging expertise.
• 6+ years of professional experience as a Technical Animator or similar role.
• Expert proficiency in Maya, including advanced rigging, scripting (Python, MEL), and tool development.
• Deep understanding of character animation principles and workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain character rigs, ensuring flexibility, performance, and ease of use for animators.
• Create and implement tools and scripts to automate animation tasks and streamline workflows.
• Collaborate closely with character artists, riggers, and animators to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges.
• Optimize animation assets and pipelines for performance in real-time engines or offline renderers.
• Develop and refine animation systems and controllers.
• Provide technical support and training to the animation team.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and techniques in technical animation and game development.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and documentation for the animation pipeline.
• Test and implement new software updates and plugins relevant to animation workflows.
• Work within a remote team structure, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
