Job description

The Senior Technical Recruiter role at Wayfair is a hybrid, Boston HQ-based position focused on end-to-end hiring for technical talent. You will own full-cycle recruiting from sourcing through offer negotiation, working closely with technical hiring managers and using data to improve speed and quality of outcomes.

Role Overview

You will run independent searches across multiple technical requisitions, including Software Engineering, Data Science/ML, Analytics, and Product Management. The role emphasizes full-cycle execution, market-informed sourcing, and a consistent candidate experience from first outreach through offer.

Key Responsibilities

• Own a full portfolio of technical requisitions end-to-end, including sourcing, screening, interviewing coordination, and closing, while meeting fill and time-to-fill targets.
• Proactively source and map the talent market for hard-to-fill technical roles by engaging passive candidates through active outreach.
• Partner with engineering and technical hiring managers as a credible advisor by running intake, calibrating the hiring bar, and using data to recommend resets or profile adjustments when needed.
• Lead offer strategy and closing for competitive candidates by anticipating potential counteroffers, identifying hesitations early, and driving the close through final decisions.
• Review funnel metrics to identify where searches are losing traction across sourcing, screening, and closing, then adjust strategy accordingly.Ensure a clear, honest, and responsive candidate experience from initial contact through offer.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally in a fast-paced in-house or agency environment filling engineering or technical roles.
• Working fluency in technical hiring, including the ability to discuss Software Engineering, Data Science/ML, Analytics, or Product Management roles and define what strong looks like.
• Demonstrated experience owning requisitions independently and closing candidates against competing offers.
• Real sourcing capability beyond inbound applicants, including the ability to find, engage, and advance passive technical talent.
• Comfort using data, including funnel metrics to prioritize requisitions, diagnose bottlenecks, and support strategy decisions with hiring managers.
• Strong organization and judgment under competing priorities, with tact to keep both hiring managers and candidates aligned.

Salary

USD 88,000 - 97,250 per year

Hybrid Location and Schedule

This is a hybrid in-office role based out of Boston HQ. Monday through Thursday are in-office, and Friday is work from home. This position is not virtual or remote.
