Job summary

Cornerstone OnDemand is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive planning, execution, and delivery of cross-functional technical programs across engineering, product, and business units. You will own end-to-end program management, build detailed roadmaps, and lead governance through status reviews and steering committees.

You will partner with engineering leaders, product teams, and DevOps to ensure release readiness and successful delivery of large-scale initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Software Eng/IT or equivalent.
• 10+ years in technical program management within software product orgs.
• 5+ years hands-on software engineering or technical lead experience.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale cross-functional programs on time and within scope.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, architecture, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with microservices, API design, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Ability to read code and design docs to assess risks and dependencies.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and scaling frameworks.
• Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Smartsheet, or MS Project.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and executive audiences.
• Strong facilitation and conflict-resolution skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple programs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end program management for large-scale cross-functional technical initiatives across engineering, product, and business units.
• Define scope, milestones, deliverables, success criteria, and resource requirements with leadership.
• Develop and maintain detailed plans, roadmaps, schedules, dependencies, and risk strategies.
• Drive execution with governance: standups, reviews, steering committees, escalation workflows.
• Report program health, risks, and blockers to leadership via dashboards and summaries.
• Manage trade-offs across scope, timeline, quality, and resources with data-backed decisions.
• Conduct retrospectives to capture lessons and drive delivery improvements.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement delivery-accelerating improvements.
