Job summary

Muon Space seeks a Senior Instrument Technical Program Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of EO/IR remote sensing instruments. You will lead the integrated master schedule, budget, and risk posture from concept through testing and flight delivery in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.

The role requires deep technical work in space-based optical payloads and strong program execution. Collaboration with hardware, systems, and mission management teams will be essential, with TS/SCI

Qualifications

• PhD or advanced degree with 3+ years in imaging/IR instrument programs.
• Equivalent MS with 6+ years in aerospace or hardware program leadership.
• BS with 8+ years in technical program management or engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated master schedule, budget, and risk register for the EO/IR instrument.
• Translate architectures and ICDs into executable plans; lead design reviews.
• Interface with Mission TPM and Spacecraft TPM for vehicle integration.
• Coordinate internal instrument resources and external optical/optomechanical staffing.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to manage vendors and component suppliers.
• Drive root cause analyses for hardware anomalies and track corrective actions.
