Job summary

CVS Health in Richardson, TX is seeking a Senior Technical Manager to lead a technical team and drive the development of scalable, innovative solutions. You will oversee architecture, engineering leadership, and end-to-end delivery across complex distributed systems, with emphasis on cloud, AI, and performance metrics.

You will mentor engineers, establish KPIs/OKRs, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver value to customers and communities.

Qualifications

8+ years of IT experience with a strong focus on engineering and software development.
5+ years of hands‑on cloud development in GCP, along with expertise in building applications using Angular and Java frameworks.
4+ years recruiting, managing, and retaining a high-performing team of software development professionals in an agile environment
1+ year using generative AI as an integrated component in software solutions

Responsibilities

Technical oversight: Design and oversee build-out and operations of complex distributed systems at scale.
Engineering leadership: Direct, support, and evaluate value, ensuring scalable best-in-class solutions.
System performance: Monitor and optimize team and system performance; establish KPIs and OKRs.
Talent management: Recruit, mentor, retain high-performing engineering team and foster a collaborative culture.
End-to-end ownership: Lead a team from strategy through delivery in complex projects.
Prioritization and pivots: Guide prioritization in line with strategic objectives and pivot as needed.
Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, platform, design, security to meet guidelines.
Coalition building: Build relationships with partners and customers to meet goals.
Risk management: Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks; report progress to stakeholders.
Staying current: Stay updated on industry trends and AI technologies to drive innovation.
