Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Senior Manager - Software Development Engineering to lead and mentor a team of software engineers, setting technical direction and architecture aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities include owning risk mitigation, overseeing the SDLC, collaborating with Product, Data, Infrastructure and stakeholders, evaluating new technologies, and building high-performing teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years leading projects or managing directs.
• 7+ years of experience using and/or managing projects using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka to build/deploy, and maintain software applications using cloud platforms.
• 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
• 3+ years of experience defining technology strategy and adopting AI/ML, cloud services, automation, and developer productivity tools.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Own risk mitigation and production stability by identifying vulnerabilities and driving timely resolution.
• Oversee the full SDLC with secure coding practices and scalable architecture principles.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Infrastructure and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and lead innovation through PoCs and informed tech choices.
• Build high-performing teams by hiring and conducting technical evaluations while fostering excellence.
