Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Senior Technical Editor to lead the development of owner's manuals, service manuals, and technical publications for Honda Power Sports & Products.

You will ensure accuracy, clarity, and usability by coordinating with engineers, SMEs, and writers to review and approve content across publications. The role emphasizes editorial leadership, mentoring junior editors, and advancing documentation standards while aligning with regulatory

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years editing technical documentation in engineering/manufacturing/software/regulated environments.
3+ years in Powersports/Power Equipment/Marine editing technical docs.
Strong ability to interpret technical concepts for varied audiences.
Proficient with Adobe FrameMaker and Creative Cloud tools.
Knowledge of gas/diesel engines and power equipment.
Experience with owners and service manuals.

Responsibilities

Produce technical service documentation and manage multiple projects to deadlines.
Edit and review complex technical materials for accuracy and clarity.
Ensure content adheres to style guides and documentation standards.
Coordinate with engineers/SMEs to verify technical correctness.
Enforce document control, versioning, and publication approvals.
Manage campaign launch materials, external vendors, and revisions.
Support cost-center supervision and budget adherence.
Develop associates through performance planning.
