Job summary

Harley-Davidson Motor Company in Milwaukee seeks a Technical Writer to develop and publish technical support information used by internal staff, dealerships, and customers to service motorcycles. You will ensure technical accuracy and on-time delivery within the Blaise XML publishing environment.

Responsibilities include collaborating with Developmental Service Engineering, creating procedures, coordinating figures, and producing CAD-based illustrations as SVGs; output PDFs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience writing technical procedures for mechanical products.
• High level of computer-based publishing aptitude including XML (or HTML) publishing.
• Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Demonstrate organization skills and ability to handle changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Research product changes using engineering information systems (BOMs, CAD models, drawings).
• Collaborate with Engineering to develop and validate technical content.
• Support timing goals for product launch activities.
• Arbitrate stakeholder input to achieve timely results.
• Compose clear procedures conforming to internal style and create figures.
