Job summary

Catalyst Brands is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to lead the technical design process for apparel, evaluating style, measurement and construction to ensure fit, quality and design interpretation for manufacturers.

The role partners with Design, Product Development and Sourcing, creates tech packs in Flex PLM, manages fit sessions, and mentors junior designers while aligning with brand standards across wholesale and other channels.

Qualifications

Degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, or related field preferred.
8+ years of technical design experience required.
Knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking and manufacturing.
Strong eye for proportion, balance, and aesthetic details.
Proficiency in Flex PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, Outlook and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication; team oriented.

Responsibilities

Manage garment evaluation process with master pattern and size grading.
Collaborate with Design and Product Development on fit and aesthetics.
Complete product packages in FlexPLM with measurements, construction details and tech sketches.
Establish and maintain fit and construction standards for brand consistency.
Lead fit sessions with Design and PD; discuss fit history and construction options.
Communicate fit and construction issues with IBOs and factories to meet timelines.
Enhance fit and quality by reviewing customer feedback and conducting block reviews.
Mentor junior technical designers on technical issues and fit processes.
