Job summary

RLI Insurance Company is seeking a Technical Claim Manager for its Professional Services Group to manage complex professional liability matters involving architects, engineers, and surveyors. The role requires strategic thinking, detailed investigation, and attorney management to deliver exemplary claims handling across a nationwide coverage area.

The candidate will own a balanced caseload, proactively share knowledge, and uphold RLI’s reputation for technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant legal or insurance experience or JD with relevant insurance defense litigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex professional liability claims involving design professionals.
• Assess coverage issues and issue appropriate coverage letters.
• Complete timely investigation of claims and post appropriate reserves.
• Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including indemnity and additional insured issues.
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices.
• Resolve claims in a timely manner to an effective outcome.
• Travel to and attend mediations and/or settlement conferences as warranted.
