Qualifications

# Senior Technical Account ManagerUnited StatesFinOpsNot Specified23/07/2026OtherRemoteFavoriteAccess Job## Job Description## About the RoleAs a Senior Technical Account Manager, you will serve as the main technical advisor for customers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. The role focuses on monitoring AWS environments, providing ongoing guidance, and helping customers improve cloud usage, cost efficiency, and alignment with best practices.ManagementYou will work closely with customer stakeholders to understand business needs, assess technical and financial priorities, and build strategies that support better cloud outcomes. The position also involves collaboration with internal support teams, Sales, and other stakeholders when escalations, recommendations, or new opportunities arise.This is a remote role reporting to the Vice President of Managed Services.## Key Responsibilities– Monitor AWS usage and spend to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities. – Provide proactive technical guidance and cloud optimization best practices to customers. – Maintain regular customer engagement and serve as the primary technical point of contact. – Conduct account reviews and deliver presentations with findings and recommendations. – Develop cloud optimization strategies based on customer business goals and needs. – Advise on architecture, governance, cost management, operations, and AWS Well-Architected principles. – Lead cloud capability workshops and operational readiness exercises. – Review technical support cases and performance metrics on an ongoing basis. – Help customers use CloudHealth and AWS Cost Explorer effectively. – Build custom and ad-hoc reports based on customer requirements. – Support planning, estimating, budgeting, and forecasting activities. – Recommend relevant Compass or AWS offerings and involve Sales when appropriate. – Participate in customer meetings, support escalations, onboarding, and backend operational activities. – Remain available for urgent issues outside normal business hours when needed. – Stay current on cloud optimization strategies and related technologies.## Required Skills– 5+ years of experience in technical account management, cloud FinOps, cloud consulting, technical support, or technical engineering in AWS and/or other cloud platforms. – Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environments. – Strong experience analyzing large cost and usage datasets to support data-driven decisions. – Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and expense tracking. – Ability to apply technical or operational expertise to identify opportunities, risks, and trade-offs. – Advanced proficiency in AWS Cost Explorer and Microsoft Excel. – Ability to manage challenging situations in a fast-paced environment. – Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills. – Strong problem-solving skills.## Preferred Skills– Strong understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its application to customer environments. – Experience with Tanzu CloudHealth or other FinOps or Technology Business Management tools. – AWS certification at the Associate level or above, or FinOps certification at the Practitioner level or above.Management## Cloud Platforms & Technologies– \*\*Cloud Providers:\*\* AWS, other cloud platforms – \*\*FinOps Platforms:\*\* AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, Tanzu CloudHealth, other FinOps or Technology Business Management tools – \*\*Productivity Tools:\*\* Microsoft Excel – \*\*Frameworks:\*\* AWS Well-Architected Framework## FinOps Responsibilities– Monitor cloud spend and usage to identify cost trends and anomalies. – Support cloud optimization and cost management recommendations. – Help customers with planning, estimating, budgeting, and forecasting. – Improve customer visibility into AWS usage and spend. – Create custom and ad-hoc reporting for customer needs. – Guide customers in using CloudHealth and AWS Cost Explorer.## Why You Might Be InterestedThis role offers the opportunity to act as a trusted technical advisor for a wide range of customers while working on AWS cost optimization and cloud strategy.
