Our Client is looking for a highly technical AWS FinOps Engineer to join a growing team focused on transforming how cloud financial operations are managed at scale. What You'll Do
- Design, build, and enhance scalable solutions for cloud cost monitoring, allocation, and optimization
- Develop automated pipelines to ingest, transform, and analyze cloud billing and usage data
- Create impactful dashboards and reporting solutions using AWS QuickSight that help stakeholders make informed decisions
- Partner with engineering teams to implement cost-efficient cloud architectures and FinOps best practices
- Identify opportunities for automated cost savings through rightsizing, scheduling, Savings Plans, Spot Instances, and other optimization strategies
- Develop and maintain tagging standards and cost allocation frameworks
- Integrate cloud cost and usage data into internal reporting, analytics, and finance platforms
- Build solutions for forecasting, anomaly detection, and cloud cost governance
- Continuously improve automation, visibility, and operational efficiency across cloud financial operations
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, FinOps, or similar technical roles
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including: EC2
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations using AWS QuickSight
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets
- Experience with Athena, Redshift, or similar analytics platforms
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or another programming language
- Experience building ETL pipelines and working with data lakes or data warehouses
- Understanding of cloud cost drivers and optimization strategies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, finance, and business teams
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification
- Multi-cloud experience with Azure or GCP
- Experience with CloudHealth, Apptio, Kubecost, or other cloud cost management platforms
- Experience implementing cost anomaly detection and alerting solutions
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, ECS, or containerized environments and their cost implications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- Background in cloud budgeting, forecasting, or financial modeling
