Job summary

BDO USA in Chicago seeks a Core Tax Services Senior Manager to advise clients on tax implications, devise strategies to minimize tax burdens, and navigate complex federal/state tax issues. The role encompasses leadership within the office and active participation in business development, client relationship management, and market-facing activities.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience.
• CPA certification, Attorney admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction, or EA (or equivalent) required.
• Proficiency with tax research databases and tax compliance process software.

Responsibilities

• Advises clients on tax implications of business objections and develops strategies to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance.
• Reviews tax provisions and ASC 740/FAS 109/FIN 48 compliance with senior client contact.
• Leads and mentors engagement teams; manages client expectations and communications with federal/state agencies.
• Develops and communicates tax strategies; participates in business development and client relationship management.
• Supervises associates and senior associates, reviews work, and ensures adherence to Firm policies and standards.
