Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Core Tax Services Senior Manager to advise clients on tax implications, evaluate alternatives, and lead complex tax issues. You will act as the primary client contact, guide filing decisions, and participate in leadership and business development within the tax practice.

You will oversee tax research, ASC 740 compliance, and coordination with firm specialists while mentoring others and maintaining client relationships across engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics preferred
• Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
• Eight (8) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience required
• CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Ensures client tax compliance while minimizing tax and reporting burdens
• Reviews tax provisions and ASC 740 knowledge; discusses with client or partner
• Develops, recommends, and implements efficient tax strategies to maximize client benefits
• Trains and mentors staff on research skills and tax issues
• Manages client relationships and acts as primary contact for complex questions
