Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Core Tax Services Senior Manager in Illinois to advise clients on federal/state tax implications, evaluate compliance options, and lead complex tax matters. You will serve as the primary client contact, coordinate with specialists, and help shape strategies to minimize tax burden and improve compliance efficiency.

The role requires eight+ years of tax experience, a CPA/EA or attorney designation, and strong leadership to guide teams and enhance client relationships

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of prior relevant tax experience.
• CPA, Attorney (admitted) or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) required.
• Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and review tax provisions and city/state/federal filings; coordinate with client teams and firm specialists.
• Lead ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) tax accruals and ensure adherence to TQM policies.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to maximize client benefits and minimize tax burden.
• Mentor and train staff on research skills and tax analysis, delegating work as needed.
• Participate in business development, marketing, and client relationship management.
