Crux is financing the future of energy and is building a remote‑first capital platform for clean energy and critical infrastructure.

The Senior Manager, Tax/Preferred Equity will be a core member of Crux’s Structuring team, leading complex tax equity and preferred equity transactions from screening to closing, with a hands‑on, model‑driven approach and client interaction across sponsors, developers, and investors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering required; MBA/MS a plus.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in renewable energy, structured finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking, or related field.
• Advanced Excel skills, including building complex partnership models; VBA or Python a plus.
• Strong understanding of tax equity and preferred equity structures; experience with partnership flip, hybrid, and equity structures.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and audit complex financial models for tax/hybrid and preferred equity transactions focusing on partnership flip, T‑flip, and hybrid structures.
• Lead screening and underwriting of new opportunities, including initial reviews and pre‑pricing screens, and develop pricing and structuring recommendations.
• Prepare investment materials for Investment Committee, including transaction economics, sensitivities, and risk analyses.
• Collaborate with senior Structuring team members on structuring, execution, and negotiations, driving transactions end-to-end.
• Analyze sponsor financials, contracts, and diligence materials to identify risks and value drivers.
• Coordinate due diligence across workstreams (engineering, tax opinions, appraisals, tax insurance) and review closing documents.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to increase accuracy in modeling, diligence, and reporting.
• Contribute to process improvements and template standardization across the Structuring team.
