Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a Tax Manager/Senior Manager in Latham, NY to lead the Capital Region office within a regional accounting and advisory firm.

The role focuses on managing client relationships, overseeing federal and state tax engagements, and mentoring local staff. Candidates should have a CPA (preferred) and progressive public‑accounting experience, with the ability to drive office growth and deliver high‑quality tax planning and compliance services for closely held businesses

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• Active CPA license strongly preferred.
• Progressive public-accounting experience.
• Strong tax compliance and planning knowledge.
• Experience with partnerships, S corporations, C corporations and individuals.
• Experience serving closely held or owner-operated businesses.
• Demonstrated client-relationship management capabilities.
• Previous staff supervision, coaching or team-leadership experience.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, professional judgment and executive presence.
• Current Capital Region residency or a genuine willingness to relocate.

Responsabilidades

• Manage relationships with closely held businesses, business owners and high-net-worth individuals.
• Oversee federal and state tax compliance, planning and advisory engagements.
• Review returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations and individuals.
• Advise clients on tax‑planning opportunities and broader business matters.
• Manage engagement timelines, workflow, budgets and client expectations.
• Supervise, coach and develop Albany-area employees.
• Coordinate client work and technical resources across multiple offices.
• Help transition and strengthen longstanding client relationships.
• Maintain high standards of technical quality and client service.
• Support selected accounting, bookkeeping, review and advisory engagements as appropriate.
• Build relationships within the Capital Region business community.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and develop new business.
• Participate in the office’s long‑term growth and strategic direction.
