Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• Active CPA license strongly preferred.
• Progressive public-accounting experience.
• Strong tax compliance and planning knowledge.
• Experience with partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations and individuals.
• Experience serving closely held or owner-operated businesses.
• Demonstrated client-relationship management capabilities.
• Staff supervision or team-leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with closely held businesses, owners and high-net-worth individuals.
• Oversee federal and state tax compliance, planning and advisory engagements.
• Review returns for partnerships, S-corps, C-corps and individuals.
• Advise clients on tax planning opportunities and business matters.
• Manage engagement timelines, workflows, budgets and client expectations.
• Supervise and develop Albany-area employees.
• Coordinate client work and resources across offices.
• Help transition and strengthen longstanding client relationships.
• Maintain high standards of technical quality and client service.
• Support accounting, bookkeeping, reviews and advisory engagements as needed.
• Build relationships within the Capital Region business community.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and develop new business.
• Participate in the office’s long-term growth and strategic direction.
