Job summary

Connectly Recruiting is assisting an established regional accounting and advisory firm in Latham, NY to hire a Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager. This role manages key client relationships, oversees federal and state tax work, and leads a team across the Capital Region.

The position may lead toward Principal/Partner for senior professionals and relocation assistance may be considered. A CPA is preferred and residency in the Capital Region is expected or willing to relocate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Active CPA license strongly preferred.
• Progressive public‑accounting experience.
• Strong tax compliance and planning knowledge.
• Experience with partnerships, S corporations, C corporations and individuals.
• Experience serving closely held or owner‑operated businesses.
• Demonstrated client‑relationship management capabilities.
• Previous staff supervision, coaching or team‑leadership experience.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and executive presence.
• Willingness to relocate to Capital Region.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with closely held businesses, business owners and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Oversee federal and state tax compliance, planning and advisory engagements.
• Review returns for partnerships, S corp, C corp and individuals.
• Advise clients on tax‑planning opportunities and broader business matters.
• Manage engagement timelines, budgets and client expectations.
• Supervise Albany‑area employees and develop staff.
• Coordinate client work across multiple offices.
• Support longer‑term growth and client relationships in the Capital Region.
