Job summary

BDO USA, LLP’s Private Client Services practice in Houston is seeking a Tax Senior to deliver tax compliance and consulting for high net-worth individuals and their families. The role involves preparing complex returns (individual, trust, estate, S‑Corp, partnership), researching tax issues, mentoring staff, and collaborating with clients and advisors to optimize tax outcomes.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in accounting or related field (CPA preferred), 2+ years of tax experience, and

Qualifications

• Two or more years of prior tax experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services.
• Experience in private client service is preferred.
• Prior basic supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in tax and consulting engagements and addresses client needs.
• Collaborates with clients and advisors to gather information for tax returns.
• Prepares complex tax returns including individual, trust, estate, S‑Corp, foundation, partnership and gift taxes for Federal and State.
• Reviews basic returns and provides feedback to staff and interns.
• Analyzes tax notices and drafts responses for PCS leadership review.
• Identifies technical issues and conducts tax research to develop recommendations.
• Works in a fast-paced environment, prioritizes tasks, and collaborates with the team.
• Mentors associates and interns on PCS methodology and tools.
