Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to help clients navigate complex tax and business situations with confidence. You will prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships using our training and technology.

This in-person role at a local Block Advisors office offers competitive pay, an incentive plan, and opportunities to expand your tax expertise while serving clients throughout the year.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications—then provide clear, personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted, year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products and services.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
