Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, uncover savings opportunities, and advise clients with industry-leading training and technology.

This in-person role is based at a local Block Advisors office. You will interview clients, understand financial situations and tax implications, and deliver personalized recommendations while building lasting relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning and audit support.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must meet IRS/state continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications; provide recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
