Job summary

H&R Block seeks a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to help clients navigate complex tax and business situations. You will prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships using training and technology, with a competitive hourly rate and incentive plan.

This in-person role is based at a local Block Advisors office and emphasizes client-focused service and ongoing tax expertise development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications, then provide clear, personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted, year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products/services.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
