Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor (Tax Advisor) to help clients navigate complex tax and business scenarios. You will prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships with strong training and technology support.

This role is in-person at a local Block Advisors office. Requires 5+ years in tax-related fields, strong communication, and the ability to explain tax concepts clearly; extensive state and IRS requirements apply, with ongoing

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications and provide recommendations
• Build year-round client relationships and identify tax savings and product opportunities
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive client-focused office environment
