H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to help clients navigate complex tax situations and prepare accurate returns in an in-person office. You will uncover savings opportunities and build lasting client relationships, supported by comprehensive training and technology.

This role emphasizes client interviews, tax planning, and offering Block Advisors products and services, with a competitive hourly rate and incentive plan based on impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in client-facing roles.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
