Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to help clients navigate complex tax and business scenarios in person at a local Block Advisors office. You will prepare returns, interview clients to understand finances, and offer personalized guidance while advancing client relationships with tax savings opportunities.

You will collaborate with a team, receive training, and operate with technology and an incentive plan tied to impact as you build tax expertise and serve clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience working in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications — then provide clear, personalized recommendations
• Build trusted, year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant Block Advisors products and services
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
