Job summary

TrueNorth Steel is hiring a Product Designer - Tank for an onsite role in Fargo, ND. You will lead design and detailing of steel tanks, create 3D models and fabrication drawings, and ensure compliance with API/UL/ASME standards while mentoring drafters.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to optimize performance, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability, and you will help advance drafting standards and workflows across the department.

Qualifications

• Lead drafting and design activities for steel storage tanks with coordination across teams.
• Ensure compliance with API/UL/NFPA/ASME and project requirements.
• Mentor junior drafters and develop drafting resources and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and detailing of steel storage tanks (aboveground/underground).
• Create and manage 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings (Inventor preferred).
• Ensure designs meet industry standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and project teams to optimize designs.
• Develop tolerance analysis methods and improve workflows.
