Job summary

MMI Tank Inc. is seeking an experienced Storage Tank Drafter to produce detailed fabrication, erection, and as-built drawings for welded steel storage tank projects.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Shop Supervisors to translate design calculations into precise drawings and material takeoffs. You will develop GA and shell layouts, nozzle details, ladders, and attachment drawings, while coordinating revisions from RFIs and field changes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certificate in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years drafting experience in steel fabrication, industrial construction, or storage tank projects.
• Experience with API 650 and/or API 620 storage tanks is preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (Inventor/SolidWorks/Tekla) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop fabrication and field erection drawings for welded steel storage tanks.
• Develop GA, shell, roof, bottom layouts, nozzle details, ladders, handrails, and attachment drawings.
• Produce fabrication details for shell courses, roof framing, bottom plates, manways, nozzles, reinforcement pads, and appurtenances.
• Create assembly drawings, weld maps, and installation details.
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
• Coordinate with engineers to incorporate design calculations into drawings.
• Manage drawing revisions due to RFIs, change orders, and field modifications.
• Review project specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with requirements.
