Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the NISSC 3 program at Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. The role delivers technical and operational support for mission systems in a TS/SCI environment, with on-site and on-call coverage.

Responsibilities include system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, user support, and ensuring data integrity and secure, auditable reporting in coordination with leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in systems or network administration in secure, mission-critical environments.
• DoW/Military training in systems administration or related discipline accepted.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
• Holds a DoW 8140 qualifying certification (Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, SSCP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver onsite and oncall technical support for mission systems, including system administration and health checks.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system performance issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and apply software patches.
• Provide first-line user support and training for system access and operations.
• Maintain logs, incident reports, and checklists per security standards.
• Respond to incidents with triage, escalation, and closure documentation.
• Execute backup and restore operations to ensure data integrity.
• Support database and system tasks to maintain operational environments.
• Ensure procedures meet audit and security requirements; assist status reporting.
