Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Systems Support Specialist IV to support the NISSC 3 program at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado. This role provides onsite and on-call system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support in a TS/SCI environment to ensure operational readiness and data integrity.

The candidate will manage incident response, backups, logs, and audits while coordinating with engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
  • Bachelor's degree or DoD equivalent training.
  • DoW 8140 certification required/preferred.
  • Experience in secure, mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with asset tracking and inventory management.
  • Experience with incident response, backup/restore, and user support.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver onsite and on-call technical and operational support for multiple mission systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions for hardware, software, network, and system performance issues.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including patching and system optimization.
  • Provide user support and training for system access and basic operations.
  • Collect, maintain, and update operational logs, incident and deficiency reports, and checklists.
  • Perform incident response activities, including initial triage, escalation, and resolution documentation.
  • Execute backup and restore operations, ensuring data integrity and compliance with security requirements.
  • Support system administration and database activities as needed.
  • Oversee procedural compliance and ensure records meet audit standards.
  • Act as a technical resource for performance optimization and reporting.
  • Coordinate with teams to support system changes and asset tracking.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is looking for our next Systems Support Specialist!

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking Systems Support Specialist IV personnel to support the NISSC 3 program at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado. These roles deliver technical and operational support for multiple mission systems by providing onsite and oncall coverage for system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support in a TS/SCI environment. The team will help ensure operational readiness, data integrity, and compliance with documentation and reporting standards.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver onsite and on call technical and operational support for multiple mission systems, including system administration, monitoring, and health checks.
  • Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions for hardware, software, network, and system performance issues.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including patching, updates, configuration changes, and system optimization.
  • Provide user support and training for system access, basic operations, and issue resolution.
  • Collect, maintain, and update operational logs, incident and deficiency reports, and operational checklists.
  • Perform incident response activities, including initial triage, escalation, coordination, and documentation of resolution.
  • Execute backup and restore operations, ensuring data integrity, availability, and compliance with mission and security requirements.
  • Support system administration and database activities as needed to maintain mission systems and associated services.
  • Oversee procedural compliance and ensure all records, logs, and reports meet required operational, security, and audit standards.
  • Act as a technical resource for performance optimization, data integrity, role continuity, and support of management status reporting.
  • Coordinate with operations management, configuration management, logistics, and engineering teams to support system changes, upgrades, asset tracking, and disposition.
Qualifications
  • 11+ years of experience in systems or network administration, systems support, or related technical roles in a secure, mission critical (DoW or similar) environment.

  • Solid understanding of property accountability practices, asset tracking, and inventory management systems in a technical or laboratory environment.

  • Proven skills in asset cataloging, recordkeeping, and disposition planning for government or defenserelated equipment.

  • Experience coordinating with operations management and supporting configuration management requirements (e.g., tracking configuration items, maintaining inventories).

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and compliance orientation to support audit readiness and process documentation.

  • Knowledge of safety, handling, and secure storage of sensitive or classified assets is advantageous.

  • Experience supporting incident response, backup/restore, and user support in an operational setting is highly desirable.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, OR Equivalent DoW/Military training in systems administration, network operations, or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.

  • Holds a DoW 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred: SecurityX / CASP+ / CCNP Security / CISA / CISSP / CISSPISSAP / CISSPISSEP

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $116,200.00/Yr. - USD $194,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
