Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS seeks a Systems Support Specialist II for the NISSC 3 program at Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. The role provides onsite and on-call system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support in a TS/SCI environment to ensure system availability, data integrity, and compliant documentation.

Responsibilities include incident response, backup/restore, maintenance, and performance optimization, with emphasis on secure operations and detailed logging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Equivalent DoW/Military training in systems administration, network operations, or a related technical discipline.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in systems or network administration, systems support, or similar technical roles in secure, missioncritical environments.
• Expertise in system administration and troubleshooting to support multiple mission systems.
• Strong skills in preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system availability and operational readiness.
• Experience providing responsive user support and training.
• Proficiency in managing process documentation, operational logs, and incident/deficiency reports.
• Experience supporting incident response, backup/restore, and documentation activities in accordance with established procedures.
• Ability to support performance optimization efforts and oversee compliance with procedural and documentation standards.
• Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
• Holds a DoW 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred: Cloud+ / GSEC / Security+ / SSCP

• Execute backup and restore operations to ensure data integrity, availability, and continuity of operations.
• Support system administration and basic database support tasks as needed to maintain operational environments.
• Oversee procedural compliance and ensure all records, logs, and reports meet required operational, security, and audit standards.
• Act as a technical resource for performance optimization, data integrity, role continuity, and support to management status reporting.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking Systems Support Specialist II personnel to support the NISSC 3 program at Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. These positions deliver technical and operational support for multiple mission systems by providing onsite and oncall coverage for system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support in a TS/SCI environment. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
