Job summary

Insight Global is recruiting for a Staff Systems Safety Engineer to lead safety efforts for High Energy Laser weapon systems and beam control through the lifecycle. You will develop programs, perform hazard analyses, and manage risk with close collaboration across systems, software, electrical, mechanical, and test teams. The role supports DoD program reviews, audits, and continuous process improvement.

A U.S. DoD security clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of system safety engineering, systems engineering, or related experience in aerospace, defense, or complex technical systems.
• Experience conducting hazard analyses (PHA, SSHA, SHA, OSHA, HHA) and developing risk mitigation strategies.
• Experience with hazard tracking systems, safety documentation, verification, and requirements traceability.

Responsibilities

• Lead system safety efforts for HE L weapon systems and beam control systems across the product lifecycle.
• Develop and execute system safety programs; perform hazard analyses and manage risk assessments and hazard tracking.
• Support DoD program reviews, customer audits, safety working groups, and continuous improvement of system safety processes across multiple programs.
