Job summary

Proven IT in Tinley Park, IL is seeking a Systems Specialist III to act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents spanning servers, networks, identity, security, and business applications. You will stabilize incidents, perform production changes, and mentor junior staff.

You will combine hands-on support with engineering judgment, identifying recurring issues, improving monitoring, and collaborating with project, security, automation, and application teams to boost reliability.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience including servers and networks.
• Advanced troubleshooting across Windows Server, M365, AD/Entra ID, virtualization, backup, recovery, and enterprise networking.
• Experience automating tasks with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Good incident handling, risk assessment, and change control during production work.
• Track record mentoring technicians and producing helpful documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigation and resolution of complex incidents across servers, networks, and apps.
• Administer Windows servers, virtualization, storage, backup, and recovery, validating restores.
• Diagnose and implement network changes, coordinating with carriers and vendors.
• Support hybrid identity and Microsoft 365 services and security-related issues.
• Lead security incident response with the security team and document remediation.
• Design or improve endpoint management, deployment, and patching processes.
• Create scripts/automation to reduce repetitive work with testing and change control.
• Contribute expertise to office openings, migrations, and integrations, coordinating with program teams.
• Set standards, maintain runbooks, and mentor junior teammates through escalations.
