Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a capable Systems Engineering Manager to supervise a team of engineers responsible for hardware, software, and network level commissioning on projects.

You will ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards while driving cost-effective engineering and on-time delivery. You will develop processes, mentor staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with major projects and branch teams to maximize project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and eight years of experience in Application engineering.
• HVAC industry experience and programming controls are required.
• Experience supervising technical/engineering groups is required.
• Minimum five years of progressive responsibility in the construction industry.
• Recognized as a leading expert in several core engineering competencies.
• Understanding of accounting principles and cost management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting technical material.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a team of Engineers for hardware, software, and network level commissioning on projects.
• Ensures compliance with state, local, and federal requirements and ethical standards.
• Develops processes to ensure cost-effective engineering and consistent delivery.
• Leads selection of controllers and devices to meet specs and minimize installation costs.
• Provides advanced technical support and serves as regional expert in application engineering.
• Uses reports to evaluate team success and project performance.
• Maintains relationships with customers, consultants, and architects engineers for project development and execution.
• Maintains high engineering standards and reuses proven designs.
