Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Sr. Systems Engineering Lead for SYD85/S5 to guide requirements, architecture, and engineering across BMC3I space systems.

You will advise program managers, coordinate with government customers, and lead cross-organizational teams in a fast-paced defense environment. Role requires deep expertise in space control missions, DoD/IC experience, and an active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing, Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing or related discipline.
• 12+ years of professional experience on DoD/IC or Civil sensor, C2, or communication systems.
• Understanding of space control operations and mission needs.
• Proven ability to lead teams performing technical analyses.
• Willing to travel to work locations as needed.
• Active Top Secret/SAP/SAR eligibility and U.S. citizenship for clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead SYD85/S5 leadership efforts guiding requirements and engineering by government, FFRDCs, and SETA personnel.
• Act as spokesperson for SYD85/S5 government customer.
• Provide technical leadership for M&S efforts across BMC3I architectures and systems.
• Lead cross-organizational teams of SMEs on studies and analyses.
• Develop and assess CONOPS and technology roadmaps.
• Engage with wargaming and space systems to identify gaps and needs.
