Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to lead cross-domain system integration for the ESS enterprise across space, ground, crypto, and terminals.

The role requires binding multiple teams and interfacing with government customers and contractors. You will develop requirements, perform analyses, prepare briefings for senior leadership, and participate in SRR/ PDR/ CDR reviews, with a focus on reducing integration risks and delivering end-to-end mission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable STEM field or other relevant discipline.
• 12+ years of engineering or technical experience.
• Hands-on experience in systems engineering and system integration.
• Ability to lead multi-segment, distributed, multidisciplinary teams with influence.
• Experience leading analysis of system architectures.
• Experience with SATCOM technologies and operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; brief senior government leadership and write assessments.
• Willingness to travel domestically ~10%
• Active Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support system engineering and integration of the ESS enterprise across space, ground, crypto, and terminals; ensure interfaces do not fall through the cracks.
• Track and maintain critical interfaces between ESS segments and external systems; manage interface documentation and open-item resolution.
• Perform and support cross-segment technical analysis to inform system-level trades and mitigate integration risks.
• Support requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and verification planning.
• Prepare technical products, assessments, analyses, briefings, and review materials for government customers.
• Support technical reviews and working groups (SRR, PDR, CDR, TIMs) and track actions to closure.
• Translate technical findings into decisions; deliver concise briefings for senior leadership and coordinate across organizations.
• Collaborate with Aerospace SMEs, government customers, SETA, and contractors to map contractor performance, issues, and risk.
• Engage with NC3 and operator communities to build shared understanding of end-to-end mission capability.
