Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Engineering Specialist to act as a technical authority and team leader on multiple projects within the Mission Engineering Department. You will mentor staff, coordinate interfaces across programs, and apply MBSE to drive end-to-end mission threads in a demanding national security space context.

Minimum requirements include a BS in a technical field, 6+ years in space/defense domains, and strong MBSE skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field.
• Substantive experience in space, intelligence, and/or defense domains, typically 6+ years.
• Proficient with MBSE or modeling and simulation.
• Experience with project planning and team leadership.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with customers and contractors.
• Experience developing strategic decision-making artifacts for senior management.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead end-to-end mission engineering efforts and MBSE models.
• Develop analysis methods to evaluate program concepts for performance, risk, and resilience.
• Lead architecture development for modeling, simulation tools and use cases.
• Identify risks and inform priorities and resourcing for programs.
• Lead cross-functional project teams across multiple concurrent studies.
• Mentor junior staff and develop department capabilities.
