Job summary

RTX in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a satellite mission engineering team. You will join a 24/7 operations environment, handling day-to-day command and control, troubleshooting, and mission support with a qualified ME team. Availability for overtime and shift variability is required.

Ideal candidates have a STEM background and 5+ years of related engineering experience, plus active TS/SCI CI Poly clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior related engineering experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience with training and certification in operational position.
• An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems; apply command and control tasks and activities
• Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility toaccurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand
• Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems
• Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts ofsystemanomalies
• Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries
• Crosstrain in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contractteam
• Lead interactions and support all missions to include the initialization of new missions
• Work program level priorities to implement process improvements relevant to the mission supported
• Periodic travel required interacting personnel from various sites and factories
• Work in an adaptable small team environment (3-7 people)
