Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the systems engineering activities required to define, develop, integrate, verify, and support complex aerospace systems throughout the product lifecycle.

You will translate mission objectives and customer requirements into technical solutions, collaborating with software, hardware, mechanical, electrical, and program management teams to ensure success from concept through operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with space-based communication payloads.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles and development lifecycle.
• Experience managing, developing, and verifying system and subsystem requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities to define, develop, integrate, verify, and support complex aerospace systems throughout the product lifecycle.
• Translate mission objectives and customer requirements into technical solutions for successful system integration.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and test teams to meet objectives.
• Provide technical leadership from concept to design, integration, verification, launch, and operation.
• Mentor junior engineers on requirements development, traceability, verification, and documentation.
