Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Dahlgren, VA team, leading and supporting Fire Control System development for SLBM. You will work with Navy interfaces, researching concepts, and developing procedures for new Fleet capabilities.

You will evaluate designs, facilitate SLBM meetings, and coordinate cross-disciplinary reviews with government and contractor teams. Amentum values safety, diversity, and innovation in defense programs.

Qualifications

• Education: BS in engineering or 10 years of demonstrated knowledge.
• Experience: 10 years professional systems engineering with DoD major programs; 5 years as a team leader on system engineering and mission engineering tasks.
• Security: Active Secret U.S. Government Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Systems Engineering support for evaluation of new concepts and designs for SLBM groups at NSWCDD.
• Coordinate and lead SLBM meetings and design reviews.
• Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and design artifacts for fire control systems.
• Interface with customers at all levels to provide systems engineering support.
• Verify engineering documentation standards related to SLBM developments.
