Job summary

Amentum is seeking a JO Operational Documentation Specialist to support SLBM/SLCM-N Fleet documentation for SSN and SSBN submarines in Dahlgren, VA. The role combines editing, publication, and procedure development for Navy systems.

Candidates will mentor staff, interface with engineers and fleet personnel, manage document workflows from draft to final copies, and perform QA on deliverables using appropriate software. A SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or four years of demonstrated subject matter expertise.
• Six years of hands-on experience with Strategic Weapon System equipment on SSBN/SSN submarines and related procedures.
• Active SECRET US Government Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Advise, manage and mentor personnel assigned to technical documentation function.
• Interface with engineers and Fleet personnel regarding editing and publication of Fleet Documentation, Operating Procedures, and Targeting Tactics.
• Oversee development of operational procedures and track flow from inception to final copies.
• Provide final quality assurance for all document deliverables.
• Utilize appropriate software for document production and maintain electronic/hardcopy data libraries.
• Generate documents autonomously in support of research and development scientists and engineers.
