Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and lead Fire Control System development for the SLBM program in Dahlgren, VA. You will work with government customers, evaluate concepts, and help design and review systems for Navy capabilities.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering and at least ten years of DoD systems engineering, including leadership experience, and an active Secret clearance. Top Secret is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• Ten years of professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major strategic, platform, weapon, combat, C2, and/or fire control systems program.
• Active Secret US Government Clearance (Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Provide Systems Engineering support for the evaluation of new concepts and designs for SLBM groups at NSWCDD supporting Strategic Systems Programs.
• Provide meeting facilitation for SLBM meetings and design reviews.
• Perform analyses or reviews related to new designs and implementations of the Fire Control System for SLBM.
• Coordinate with other engineering and management disciplines to support design reviews.
• Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and design artifacts.
• Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels, providing systems engineering support.
• Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards related to SLBM developments.
• Perform other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or ten years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise.
• Experience: Ten years professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major strategic, platform, weapon, combat, Command and Control (C2), and/or fire control systems program, with five years’ concurrent experience as a team leader performing system engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements and top level designs and/or system architectures for software intensive systems. This includes experience related to the identification, analysis and resolution of complex systems engineering issues involving platform, weapon, combat, C2, and fire control systems for Navy/Joint warfighting capabilities.
• Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) or other SLBM organizations supporting Fire Control System Developments.
• Top Secret Clearance.

Compensation Details:

US: $100,000 to $130,000
