Job summary

VARITE is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer - IV to support critical scheduling infrastructure for a national financial services environment. The role focuses on Control‑M administration, multi‑environment orchestration, and ensuring availability, resiliency, and security across mission‑critical workloads.

With 6–9+ years in IT engineering and a background in Linux/Unix and Windows Server, you will lead modernization efforts, mentor staff, and collaborate with security and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 6–9+ years of IT engineering, infrastructure operations, or workload automation.
• Deep knowledge of Control‑M administration: server/agent install, job scheduling, and security.
• Experience with Control‑M multi‑environment orchestration (on‑prem + CoLo).
• Hands-on Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration.
• Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell) and log analysis.
• SQL skills and basic database troubleshooting (PostgreSQL or Oracle).
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, ports, firewall config).
• Experience with Control‑M Configuration Manager and scheduling.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) and monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace).
• Strong documentation, root cause analysis, problem‑solving.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Control‑M Servers and Agents across multi‑site environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain job scheduling workflows, workload orchestration, and user/security configuration.
• Conduct operational health checks, monitor system performance, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards and audit/security requirements.
• Assess testing requirements, prepare testing strategies, and develop implementation and transition plans.
• Analyze and revise system logic, documentation, and technical standards as needed.
• Lead modernization initiatives including automation API, jobs‑as‑code adoption, and enterprise integration.
