Job summary

GEM Technologies, a NYC-area managed services provider, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to maintain and secure IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and Windows-based systems across client environments.

You will design, implement and optimize server and cloud solutions, deliver expert client support, document configurations, and stay current with emerging technologies. This is a hybrid role based in the NYC area with occasional on-site visits to client locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent work experience.
• At least five years as a Senior Systems Engineer delivering complex IT projects.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Hybrid remote work with on-site client engagements in NYC metro area.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain server and cloud-based computing solutions.
• Provide expert technical support to clients, resolving system issues.
• Analyze and optimize system performance, identifying improvements.
• Create and maintain documentation of configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in systems engineering.
• Experience with cybersecurity, including firewalls and best practices for securing systems.
• Experience with disaster recovery and regaining access to IT infrastructure.
• Some on-site work at client locations throughout the NYC metro area.
